British prosecutors have filed 38 fresh charges against Andrew and Tristan Tate, encompassing allegations of rape and sex trafficking, following the identification of four additional accusers. The authorities have formally requested the extradition of the brothers from the United States.
The siblings were taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service on Saturday, according to a statement released by the Crown Prosecution Service the next day. These new allegations involve four more victims, increasing the total number of complainants in the U.K. case to seven.
Andrew Tate, 39, now faces seven additional rape counts, three charges of orchestrating or facilitating trafficking for sexual purposes, and three counts of assault causing actual bodily harm. He also confronts 19 further charges related to indecent images of minors and extreme pornography.
His brother, Tristan Tate, 38, is accused of two additional rape counts, one count of sexual assault, and three charges of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation.
The alleged incidents occurred between July 2010 and August 2017, prosecutors noted. The latest charges bring the total number of allegations against the brothers in Britain to 59, including 21 previously authorized charges connected to three earlier victims.
Malcolm McHaffie, who heads the CPS Special Crime Division, stated that these charging decisions followed receipt of a further evidence file from Bedfordshire Police.
The CPS is actively pursuing extradition from the U.S. for both the original and new charges. Officials emphasized that ongoing criminal proceedings ensure the brothers are entitled to a fair trial.
The Tates, who hold dual British and U.S. citizenship, have consistently denied any wrongdoing. Their lawyer, Joseph McBride, has proclaimed their innocence and characterized the charges as an abuse of power.
The brothers are also entangled in legal proceedings in Romania, where they were charged in 2023 with rape, human trafficking, and forming an organized criminal group to exploit women sexually. Prior reporting indicated they flew to Florida in early 2025 after Romanian authorities lifted travel restrictions, and that Andrew Tate had obtained Vanuatu citizenship around the time of his 2022 arrest.
