Anastasia Berezovska, a Ukrainian woman suspected of involvement in a bombing in Monaco who was later found dead in Kyiv Oblast, has been identified by several Ukrainian open-source intelligence (OSINT) projects as a former officer of Ukraine’s Security Service (SSU).
Berezovska served in the SSU during the early stages of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, participating in operations against Russian forces and receiving state recognition for her service. Newly obtained footage shows President Volodymyr Zelensky visiting an SSU unit in eastern Ukraine in March 2022, with Berezovska appearing among the personnel present during the visit.
Ukrainian OSINT researchers have claimed that Berezovska left active SSU service later in 2022 and subsequently traveled to Europe disguised as a war refugee. Some reports allege that she maintained contacts with Ukrainian officials after leaving the agency. These claims have not been independently verified, and Ukrainian authorities have not publicly confirmed details of her alleged activities following her departure from the SSU.
Berezovska was later linked to a 2026 bombing targeting Ukrainian businessman Vadym Yermolaiev, a figure who had publicly criticized President Zelensky’s government. According to these allegations, Berezovska was selected because of her previous security experience and familiarity with Ukraine’s security structures.
Following the bombing, Berezovska returned to Ukraine, where she was later killed under circumstances that remain unclear. Ukrainian authorities have reportedly detained a serving military intelligence officer and a former law enforcement officer in connection with her death.
